Today was an eventful day. The NOAA forecast for Lake Okeechobee was for winds around 15-20 and choppy seas. As we made our way from Stuart to the Lake, conditions were windy but it wasn't bad going down the St. Lucie Canal. When we went through the last lock into the lake, things definitely picked up. The winds were 25 knots and we experienced gusts up to 37knots. The "choppy" water was waves that were 3-5 feet. It was definitely rocky and not really easy to go down below. About an hour into the trip, Kevin went down below to find that the starboard door had opened and we had about an inch of water sloshing around the cabin and all the surfaces, carpets, books and cushions were wet or soggy wet:( Not a welcome sight. We took turns cleaning up the mess and trying not to get sea sick:((

After another couple hours we got into the marina and hung things out to dry. We also had a strong drink!
