The wind and rain had subsided by early morning and we headed out into what appeared to be a nice day. About an hour into our trip the winds picked up and gusted at around 36 knots, waves 3-4 feet , but the sky remained sunny. It must have been to much for the birds and dolphins and other wildlife because we saw little life along the way.

We went through an area nicknamed the 'Grand Canyon" as there were craggily sandy walls on either side of the GIWW.As we traveled through bays that were less protected than the canyon, we were bow into the waves and the spray reached over our flybridge many a time.

We anchored in a Bayou that was supposed to have 360 degree protection but the winds and waves within the bayou were at odds against each other and we had a rocking and rolling kind of an evening. Things settled down by early morning.
