Our journey today took us through Bay Spring Lake, a canal section of the Tenn-Tom and into Pickwick lake (in TN). This was the first day during our trip that we saw a lot of activity on the Tenn-Tom. We needed to travel slowly because there were so many recreational boaters on the water. It was fun to see so many people enjoying themselves. There was also much more development along the banks of the lakes. Large lake houses, trailer parks, and state parks. We settled into a the Pickwick State Park Marina and it was super hot and humid. Before we got into our slip, we got fuel and made the dock attendants day because our fuel bill was the largest she ever had rung up.

We waited,in air conditioned comfort, till early evening and had a nice walk to the park's inn and restaurant. The food was OK but the dining room had a nice view of the lock and dam we'll be going through tomorrow. We were a bit concerned that they were calling for near flood stage for the water ahead but we talked to a park ranger and he said boats that are our size wouldn't have an issue.
