A very slow start to the day. We were very close to the lock we needed to go through, so we called them to find out the activity going through the lock. We were told it would be a 5-6 hour delay. There was another alternate way that would take longer for us to get back on course and there was a lock for that route also. We called them and we were told they were closed till Saturday. Luckily we were still in the marina and could arrange for a "late check-out". That left time for me to clean the interior of the boat, submit our quarterly taxes and get caught up on our tallying of our trip expenses. Kevin did lots of odds and ends that needed doing too.

We called about 5 hours later and we were told we could get through the lock in about 1.5 hours. With the other lock closed, there was quite a backlog of tugs and containers that needed to go through. Once through the lock, we made good time to get to Paducah, KY. We stayed at the municipal marina and there was only one other boat there. We relaxed for a bit and went into town to get dinner and see if we could watch the Capitals win the Stanley Cup! What an exciting way to end the day.
