It was a short trip (2 hours) on the water today. We just needed to cut across Lake Oneida, which is the only large body of water on the Erie Canal route. The lake is rather shallow and can get up to 6 foot waves but it was smooth as glass at the start of our trip and got a tiny bit choppy at the end of our trip.

Kevin did some testing with the engines as we went across. Unfortunately we are feeling some vibrations again but is not as severe as before. We'll be keeping an eye on things as we continue.

We tied up along a canal wall in Sylvan Beach around noon. We had a nice talk with some locals and they told us where to bike in the area. After lunch we went for a nice bike ride along the lake and through a state park. We also went through the town, which is a small beach town with a tiny amusement park. There were a few restaurants still open, including one that had ice cream...so Kevin got his ice cream fix.

We're off for a 30+ trip tomorrow.
