What a day! It started off looking at the weather and it looked like T-storms in the late afternoon. We had been planning to anchor out but changed our minds and extended our slip in Vero Beach. The day was overcast to start but quickly got warm and sunny. That must have been a sign for the dolphins to come out. We had at least 6 different occurences of dolphins playing in our wake. Usually it was in pairs but one time there was 3 dolphins who swam alongside of the boat for about 5 minutes. I think they thought they were racing us and they kept up or even swam faster than the boat (9.5 knots). They also showed off a lot. They twirled around in the water as they swam and then jumped and belly flopped on the water. I got splashed quite a few times.

The trip was really beautiful today. We went through lots of areas with little islands and sand bars. Not too many birds but we did have a huge flock of snake birds wind their way past us.

After docking at the Vero Beach City Marina, we took a nice bike ride around the city and are ready to explore more tomorrow.
