We got an early start today and left just after the sunrise. Today was our longest trip and we were out of sight of land and radio and cell transmission for a few hours. We made Kathleen a little anxious, providing her with our trip course and telling her if we didn't get in contact with her by 8pm to call the Coast Guard. I packed a few ditch bags, in case we had to abandon ship. Food, water, sunblock, hand held radio, flares, flash lights, clothes, first aid kit and some whiskey and a bite stick if we needed to do surgery.

Luckily we had super smooth sailing. Captain Kevin got us on course and we reached Key West without incident.

We watched the sunset from the aft deck and enjoyed some gin and tonics to celebrate our first real off-shore adventure.
