Day 16

Another beautiful day at sea. Traveled just 2.5 hours to the pretty town of Manteo in the outer banks. We visited The Roanoke Island Festival Park. They have a replica of the Ship "Elizabeth" that traveled here from England in 1585 with 55 men on board. The park also has historical exhibition areas with interpretive guides to discuss what the life of the settlers were at that time.

Day 17

We went back to the Roanoke Island Festival Park to see a 45 min. video that they had about the Native Americans and the early settlers. It was well done. Then we rode our bikes to the northern end of the island to visit the National Park Services Fort Raleigh Historic site and the Elizabethan Gardens.
