We waited this morning for the wind and rain to calm down and headed back to Belleville.

We encountered strong winds and waves 2-4 feet throughout the trip. Once we got to Belleville a few of the technicians boarded the boat and we went out for them to try to figure out what was wrong. Both engines were vibrating and the starboard shaft was vibrating laterally. The decision was made to lift the boat up and take off the propellers, and then drop the boat in the water again and run the engines to see if the shafts were causing the problem. After the test, the general consensus was that the shafts and propellers were not adequately mated and and there wasn't constant contact between them when they were operational. It was 6pm when this was decided so repairs are tomorrow.

They took the boat out of the water and Kevin and I slept in the boat up on blocks in the parking lot.

Repairs are to start early AM.
