Today was a trip to St. Petersburg to spend about 4 days. We are going to wait for the wind and sea conditions to be good to make the trip across the Gulf of Mexico. We need to cut across the Gulf because we can't really go up north along the coast and around the bend of the coast because the water is too shallow, thus the trip across, which should take 15-17 hours.

We traveled to St. Pete with my sister Betsy and a family of 5, who were friends of hers from England. The weather was perfect, the dolphins were out in full force and Betsy supplied a wonderful lunch. It did get really windy as we came into St. Pete and it was a challenge dodging sailboats and getting into the slip. As usual, Kevin handled everything with ease.

The following days were filled with biking around the city, trip planning, doing taxes, visiting a friend of Kevin's, Carl Vella and his family and waiting for the weather window to cross the gulf. St. Pete is a lovely city. Lots of renovation going on and there is a very young vibe to the city. It also has great parks, a vibrant music scene and good restaurants.
