The day started off with me taking the kayak to Don Pedro Island and having a great walk and finding lots of shells :0 Then we hoisted the anchor and headed to Sarasota for a week at Marina Jack. We are taking our time on the west coast for a few weeks before we head across the Gulf of Mexico to start our journey through the middle of the country. We are waiting for the rivers to calm down from the winter rains and snow but it looks like winter is staying longer up north so it should be a waiting game.

Our week in Sarasota was pleasant. We got to spend some time with my sister Betsy and her husband Bill. Had a terrific Easter dinner with them and Betsy and I had a bonus day of outlet mall shopping while Kevin waited at the boat for an engine mechanic to come replace a pump. We also had a great visit with my sister Elaine, her husband Ron and their daughter's family while they were vacationing in Captiva.

We spent about 3 days doing boat maintenance, waxing, cleaning, having a diver come and replace zincs on the props, cleaning the motor on the dingy...a boat is a needy creature!
