Today started out warm and overcast. We encountered lots of tow traffic. There were many little communities along the river banks. About 2/3 of our way into the day trip the skies got dark and a look at the radar wasn't promising. We heard a tug Captain report that he got a wether warning to expect up to 65mph winds. We decided to pull over and anchor to wait the storm out. Luckily for us, we

didn't get the brunt of the storm and only saw winds up to 42mph. After the storm passed, we were passed by a tree in the water and when we pulled up the anchor, it was weighted down with a pile of heavy ship's line. Kevin broke our 2 boat hooks getting the line off of the anchor, while I steered the boat away from tows coming at us from both directions. We travelled a little further up north and anchored near a rail road bridge. Hopefully there won't be too much train traffic tonight.
