It was a wise decision to wait to travel today. We waited for the rain to end in the AM and headed out. The seas were calm and although the skies were gray to start out the sun peaked out and finally shone full. It was great to pass the Palisades on the Jersey shore and go under the Tappan Zee (which has restricted waters because they are disassembling the old bridge) and George Washington bridges! Once we got to Manhattan there was a moderate amount of ferry traffic. As we got to the canal to get to our marina, we had to contend with a sailboat tacking its way into the marina, the ferry and sea dos. The captain did a masterful job getting us into a slip that was up close and personal with another yacht. We had a nice walk around the river and took in the lovely views of Manhattan. Tomorrow will be able to get a nice view of the Statue of Liberty.
