After a smooth ride through the Cape May Canal, we had a rough patch of travel. The winds picked up to be consistently in the 20's with gusts up to 39mph. Waves were in the 2-4 range but we saw a few in the 5-6 ft. range. We were consistently showered with sea spray as we plowed through the waves and after about an hour Kevin retreated to the lower helm for better visibility. After about 3 hours of that mixture of waves and wind, the waves subsided and we saw winds mostly in the high teens and low twenties.

Once we got into the C&D canal, it was easy going!

We anchored in a small cove across from Chesapeake City, where all is calm and quiet.
