We woke up this morning to what sounded like a ship's horn right near us. I looked out the window and fog had blanketed the area. The ship must have been going through the channel and continued to sound its horn as it went along its way. I went back to sleep and woke up about an hour later to the sun coming out and chasing the fog away.

After the fog lifted, we pulled up our anchor and began the last day of our Great Loop adventure.

While we were still in the C&D Canal, the water was calm and the winds weren't too strong. As we entered the Chesapeake, the winds picked up and were blowing between the18-34 mp. The waves were anywhere from 1.5 ft - 5 ft. There wasn't a lot of boat traffic to contend with and that left us time to recap the highlights of our trip, as we sat up in the flybridge. We were feeling a little sad that our adventure would soon be over. The time went by quickly and at 3:38pm we crossed our wake.

It was a great trip. Every day was different and each day kept us mentally and physically challenged. We learned a lot, honed our boating skills and grew more confident with dealing with adverse weather conditions.

Neither one of us want to do the loop again because we want to experience different waters. We are already planning this summer's trip to Maine:)

Thanks for following along with us on our adventure and stay tuned to Huckster47.travelmap.net come June!
