Today was a short hop to the nearby Jekyll Island. We were settled by 11:30 and off on our bikes to be tourists.

The historic part of the island, was established in the late 1800s by 35 industrialists. Many built "cottages" and together they built a club house with apartments, a dining room, etc. The houses and club house were only used from Jan.- March. The state bought the island after WWII and most of the buildings have been renovated and the grounds are nicely groomed.

The island, itself has beautiful beaches and forests.
