A rather long day today. We started our cut through the middle of FL and it took 6.5 hours. We began by entering the St. Lucie Canal and then after going through 23 miles and 2 locks entered the Okeechobee lake. The Okeechobee is the the 2nd largest enclosed fresh lake in the US (Michigan is the largest). What's interesting is that it's average depth is only 12 feet. It's pretty polluted and very muddy appearing.

We traversed about 2/3 of the way across the lake and went through a final lock in Cleweston. We are at a cute, clean marina just a stone's throw from the last lock. We are docked right near the tiki bar and had dinner there. The alligator tail bites were delicious.
