Another pretty easy passage, winds 20-22 knots, seas 2-3 feet. We got to Vaca Key mid-day and Kevin gave the boat a little wash down while I checked in. We then got on our bikes to go to Sombero Beach, which the tour books said was one of the most beautiful beaches in the Keys. Irma did a number on this Key too. We were told that the streets were finally pretty clear and found that Sombero Beach had been destroyed. Irma had taken away all of this sandy beach and it was in the process of being rebuilt. About half the beach was open to the public and big piles of sand are waiting to be spread out to complete the beach rebuilding.

Day 2 took us to Crane Point Museum and Nature Center. If is a 63 acre area preserve of the Keys natural environment. About 1/2 of the area seems to be recovering from the effects of Irma but the rest seems to have survived relatively untouched. We biked there and hiked around. After visiting there we headed to get provisions and made it back to the boat before a rainstorm. Tomorrow we head off to Long Key.
