A 9 hour day today going rather slowly on the Richelieu River. The River isn’t that wide and there are lots of houses/marinas/ferries along the way and we can’t really go over 6 knots, so as not to leave a big wake. The weather was rainy off and on but no downpours. The skies were quite dramatic. We arrived at Chambly at about 1:30 (we started at 7am) hoping to get a spot on the wall to the beginning of a flight of 10 locks. Going through the whole flight would take 3-5 hours and we were there too late to do that. We were lucky though and could traverse the first 3 locks and get a prime spot at the top of the 3rd lock with power:) Chambly is a picturesque riverside town with lots of restaurants, grocery stores etc. We got some salmon to go with the squash and other vegetables we got at the Etwater market a couple days ago. A little coconut rice and dinner is served!
