Fog was the theme of the day - until we reached Belmar NJ. Our 6 hour passage was relatively smooth with light wind and low waves but large swells that continually rocked the boat. With the continual rocking and fog bank all around us, it felt like we were in some type of hypnotic experiment. We encountered only 4 boats and a handful of gulls in the 6 hours we were out. The whole experience gave us a taste of how hard it must be to do a solo transatlantic voyage.

A light rain greeted us as we entered Shark River inlet but then the clouds opened up as we passed through the bridges to get to the marina.

We ended up the day with a great dinner with old friends, Virginia and Dan.
