Day 30- started off rainy and then cleared up some but there was smoke in the air. After about 2 hours of travel we entered the Saint Lawrence Seaway and went through two locks. I had some trepidation about this part of the trip because of some videos I saw and hearing a horror story of boats being damaged as things went out of control in the first lock we were going to go through. The gods protected us and we traversed the locks without harm but did have prolonged waits at each lock. At the second lock they were having mechanical problems so the wait was 2+ hours. It took us 5 hours to go through both locks. We did meet a nice couple from Minnesota though and we chatted our waiting time away with them.

After the locks we headed to Montreal and the only issue we faced was extremely strong currents outside of the city. We docked in a very nice marina, which was conveniently next to the Cirque du Soleil tents. After settling in we walked around the old town part of Montreal.

Day 31

We spent the day sightseeing. We took a 2 hour bus tour around the city, had smoked meat and poutine at a deli that was established in 1930, and walked, walked, walked.

Day 32

We biked along a canal for a couple of hours and stopped at Atwater Market for lunch and provisions. Atwater is a big food market with all kinds of produce, meats, cheese, flowers, chocolates and pastries and baked goods.

We went back to the boat, did exciting things like laundry and cleaning and made plans for continuing our trip. In the evening we went to Cirque du Soleil:)
