We had a leisurely start to the day. We didn't leave Peoria until 11:30. Although I would have liked to have given Kevin a special breakfast, we had limited breakfast treats on the boat and we didn't want to head to Peoria again to look for brunch. Kevin had to make due with a breakfast in bed with his usual...mini wheats, oat squares and blueberries.

We had a 4.25 hour trip today and anchored in a fairly quiet spot behind an island but still near the boating channel and we have been watching tows go by. It's still very hot (95+) and humid and as we travel the doesn't make it into the fly bridge.

The scenery is pretty with lots of islands along the way and very verdant grasses around the perimeters of the land. We saw a few flocks of white pelicans but not much else in the way of wildlife.

I cooked our dinner in the toaster oven as we traveled, so that it wouldn't be so hot when we anchored. It was one of Kevin's favorite dinners on the trip. Asian marinated pork tenderloin, jasmine rice with mushrooms and onions and a medley of fresh zuchinni, tomatoes, and corn...a nice Father's Day dinner.
