Almost home!

We started a little later in the morning so we would have the tide with us as we got to the Delaware Bay and wouldn’t have to fight the current. It worked and we gained a few knots going across the bay. Pretty much every time we’ve gone across the bay it’s been pretty miserable with 3-6 feet waves hitting us at the beam. Our trip across was a little choppy to start but then it settled down with 7 knot winds and almost calm flat water. Ya Hoo!

The trip lasted about 6.5 hours and we were able to snag an anchorage right outside Chesapeake City. We took the dingy into town, had a little walk, shopped, and got the last ice cream of the trip.

The little city was hopping in the evening. Lots of boats, crowded restaurants, and tons of loud music:)

Things settled down around 10pm and we enjoyed a calm night.
